Who we are
Built on the belief that financial constraints should never determine potential.
PreEminent Foundation is the fundraising NPO behind PreEminent Academy — raising, stewarding, and disbursing donor funding exclusively for the Academy's education and training programs, so that financial constraints never determine who gets to qualify.
Our founding
Why we exist
South Africa produces capable, motivated learners who are blocked from completing qualifications not because of ability but because of money. Fee arrears, registration holds, outstanding exam fees, and gaps in learning materials cut short educational journeys that are otherwise well underway.
PreEminent Foundation was established specifically to solve that problem for students enrolled at PreEminent Academy. The Foundation is the dedicated fundraising and stewardship vehicle for the Academy — ensuring that donor funds are raised responsibly, allocated only to verified needs, and disbursed directly to support Academy students from enrolment through to qualification.
Our model is built on three non-negotiable principles: verified need, direct disbursement to the Academy, and documented outcomes. Every rand that enters the Foundation moves through a documented process and is reported against a defined student outcome.
What drives us
Mission, vision, and values
Mission
To raise and steward donor funding that removes financial barriers for students enrolled in PreEminent Academy programs — ensuring that need, not money, determines who completes their qualification.
Vision
A South Africa where every student accepted into a PreEminent Academy program can complete it — where financial origin is never the reason a qualification goes unfinished.
Values
- Integrity — we act as guardians of donor trust at every stage
- Transparency — every allocation decision is documented and reportable
- Stewardship — we treat donated funds as a privilege, not a resource
- Accountability — we measure what we fund and report what we find
- Impact — we prioritise outcomes over activity
How we think
Our theory of change
Donor contributions, partner commitments, volunteer governance capacity, and institutional trust relationships.
Application review, financial need verification, direct disbursement to PreEminent Academy, mentorship facilitation, and outcomes tracking.
Academy students retained in programs, fees cleared, qualifications completed, and certifications issued.
Qualified individuals entering the workforce and contributing economically — reducing the cycle of structural poverty through skills and credentials.
How we operate
Governance and accountability
Funding decisions
All disbursements follow a documented approval process with defined roles, independent review at threshold levels, and written records retained for audit. No single individual authorises allocations above minimum thresholds without countersignature.
Stewardship controls
Donor funds are held in ring-fenced accounts, allocated only to verified beneficiary needs, and tracked from receipt through disbursement to outcomes confirmation. Operational costs are not funded from program allocations.
Reporting obligations
An annual outcomes report is produced for all registered donors and institutional partners, covering total disbursements, program completions, allocation breakdown by category, and governance compliance status.
POPIA compliance
All personal information collected through forms, applications, and donations is handled in accordance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act. Data is held securely, used only for its stated purpose, and not sold or shared with third parties.
Conflict of interest
Governance participants with a direct or indirect interest in any allocation decision are required to recuse themselves. Conflict of interest disclosures are recorded and retained as part of the governance record.
External accountability
The Foundation maintains its governance documentation in a form that supports external review, partner due diligence, and corporate social investment compliance requirements including B-BBEE SED documentation.
